Foods with Folic Acid

spinach, asparagus, turnip greens, Legumes, beans, peas, lentils,Egg yolks, Baker’s yeast, Fortified grain products (pasta, cereal, bread); some breakfast cereals (ready-to-eat and others) are fortified with 25% to 100% of the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for folic acid, Sunflower seeds, Liver and liver products also contain loads of folate, orange juice, canned pineapple juice, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, grapefruit juice, banana, raspberry, grapefruit and strawberry) and vegetables (beets, corn, tomato juice, vegetable juice, broccoli, brussels sprouts, romaine lettuce and bok choy)

Folic Acid is a B vitamin. It basically does a bunch of stuff relating to cell production and division. Mainly the creation of red blood cells. It’s in a bunch of different foods (as I listed above). Look to see if it’s in fortified cereal or just take it in vitamin form. So, why take Folic Acid? It’s simple In the fetus, folic acid helps the neural tube, the neural tube is like a really basic neurological system and it develops into the brain and spinal cord. If you don’t get enough folic acid, the neural tube could close incorectly. Which can cause a bunch of really bad shit to happen.

So the moral of the story is…Eat a bunch of folic acid rich foods while you’re pregnant and your kids will be smart. Maybe it’s true, maybe not. Nonetheless spinach omelettes are pretty damn good. ahhhhh yeah. Get that omelette Folic Acid Groove on child.
